The corruption of man

The pearl stongly emphasizes the corruption of man. With the doctor, the trackers, and even Kino, Steinbeck shows how much we are cought up into earthly riches and power. I think that Steinbeck makes a good point and moral for the story. He clearly shows that if we run after worldly things, we will fail in the end. What's your opinion? POST!

You're right. It's really heartbreaking to see all that happened to Kino and Juana just because of the corruption of society. The doctor wouldn't help them, the pearl buyers tried to cheat them and then numerous people tried to steal from him causing him to murder a guy causing them to be chased away and Coyotito's death. It's actually realy sad!!!!!!!!
